"The Guardian" Started as a 15 foot Boulder of obsidian rock from Yosemite
National Park. Commissioned especially for Coal Creek Landing, she was
hand carved by John Kessler of Cripple Creek Colorado. Obsidian rocks are
igneous rocks formed when lava cools quickly above the ground. It is
actually glass and not a mixture of minerals.
